Days 2, 3, & 4 - from Edmunston to Kenora

Sammy Sams, enjoying time out of the car
Some photos from the past three days, which have been a whirlwind of eat, sleep, drive.

We travelled from Edmunston, NB to Mattawa, ON (near North Bay) on Wednesday.  On Thursday we went from Mattawa to Terrace Bay (2 hrs east of Thunder Bay), and then Terrace Bay to Kenora on Friday.  We could have pushed it and arrived on Friday, but then we would have had to file for divorce on Saturday, so we decided to take an extra day and make the trip more enjoyable.  The animals are happier for it, too-- though we couldn't ask for more well-behaved critters to bring along on a road trip!  The bunnies just sit there, content and litter-trained, and the cat just sleeps.  If we let him out of his carrier he will sleep on a lap for a bit, and then voluntarily go back to his box.  It's at head-level, which we think he likes, and so he's pretty content, and hasn't even been carsick!  He will be glad to arrive to his new home and meet his cousin Harley (my cat who I abandoned to my parent's care some years ago).  The bunnies are traveling as well as usual-- they don't say much, and seem to do alright jammed in the car amidst all our junk.  I can't wait to make them an awesome hutch at our new farm!  We've had no problems getting pet-friendly motels along the way.

Next stop: Brandon!  We will arrive today early afternoon.  Can't wait!

Here's some more photos of the trip:

Dinner in Kenora, ON
Jon and I are doing great, but finding the trip a bit exhausting-- Not like a vacation at all!  That's what Jon said this morning, when I justified his tiredness-- "How is it exhausting just sitting in a car all day??"  But, it is!  It's cramped and boring and monotonous and very different from our physical jobs.  We will be glad to be out working in the fields very soon, and to settle into our new home.  We treated ourselves to a nice dinner out in Kenora last night.  When we arrived, it was 25 degrees, and as it is now May it felt like the opening weekend of lake season, so there were lots of folks out enjoying the gorgeous scenery of Kenora on Lake of the Woods.
